How to make Baked Romeo and Juliet Pastel:

Before you start preparing this cheese pastry recipe with guava paste, gather the necessary ingredients. For the filling you can use another cheese of your choice, such as Minas cheese, it is also very tasty with guava paste!

Put the flour in a bowl and open a small hole in the center. Put the milk, melted butter, an egg, salt and sugar in this hole. Mix all these sweet pastry dough ingredients until smooth.

Tip: If you prefer, you can also prepare this dough in an electric mixer.

Knead for 20 minutes or until the dough is smooth, smooth and compact. Then open it on a floured bench, with the help of a roller, until it is 2-3 mm thick.

Tip: If the dough continues to stick to your hand after kneading for the indicated time, sprinkle a little flour and knead again.

Turn the oven on at 180ºC. Cut the dough into discs using a pastry cutter, round cup, or similar utensil.

Place a little mozzarella and guava cheese on each dough disk - don't overdo the amount so that the stuffing doesn't spill into the oven.

Close the pastries as you like (by hand or with a fork), beat the remaining egg and brush the pastries with it. Place the pastries on an oven tray and bake at 180ºC for 25 minutes or until golden.

After the previous step your guava paste and cheese is ready! Serve while hot or warm and let us know in the comments what you think of this baked sweet pastry recipe. Enjoy your food!
